Music! Adventure! Fun! Young Cape Singers seeks new voices.

Young Cape Singers is for kids who love to sing. Auditions for new singers are being scheduled for the 2011-2012 season. Young Cape Singers is open to boys in grades four through eight and girls in grades four through 12.

Founded in 1997 and under the direction of Julia Henrich, the Young Cape Singers is made up of talented young musicians from throughout Cape May and Atlantic Counties.

The group meets weekly in Ocean City, September to June. They perform locally and regionally throughout the school year and cap off the season with an annual summer tour to a more distant city.

Young Cape Singers is designed for youngsters who want to expand their musical horizons into more advanced accomplishment. The group offers both singing choirs and a handbell choir.

Tours have taken them to California, New York, Montreal, Virginia, Tennessee, Delaware and Pennsylvania. They have performed in venues including the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Montreal, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, the Constitution Center in Philadelphia and King’s Chapel in Boston. They sang the national anthem for the Philadelphia Phillies and fans at Citizen’s Bank Park.
